At 6 months of age, breast milk or formula should remain the primary source of nutrition for your baby, however, you can start to compliment her diet with nutritious foods enjoyed by the entire family1. It's important to first introduce iron-rich meat and meat alternatives and iron-fortified baby cereal. Aside from these iron-rich foods, there is no particular order in which your baby should try vegetables, fruits, and milk products such as cheese and yogurt (with the exception of cow’s milk). By the time your baby is 12 months old, aim to have introduced her to a variety of foods and flavours from Canada’s Food Guide.
